There are lots and lots of snow babies out there that are not vintage or antique by any stretch of the imagination. Probably the most popular modern day examples are the Department 56 variety but there are many others produced today in ceramic, pewter, porcelain, resin, plastic and other materials no doubt.
Please note that it is especially important that you take the time to learn about older snow babies and related memorabilia before you part with your hard earned cash, especially in interent auctions and in other online transactions. If you are in the market for "oldbabies" (by that I mean vintage or antique snow babies, santas or elves items) an excellent, and probably the best, resource out there is Mary Morrisson's book "Snowbabies, Santas and Elves". Check out the Hard Copy page if you are interested in purchasing her work - its a very authoritative work and an excellent tool if you are an "old baby" collector!.
Many of the images depicted at SnowBabySP's Place have been gleaned from the internet and are believed to be in the public domain. However, I do run across stuff on the intenet that is misrepresented as something other than what it appears. I do try to accurately identify the pieces shown in images at my site, but I do not pretend to know everything there is to know about our hobby ... if you see a mistake or a misleading image here please feel free to send me an email!
This page is especially for what I call "other babies" (snow babies that are not Dept 56 Snowbabies and not vintage or antique snow babies). Nevertheless, I find them interesting and some of them fun to collect at a fair price so I'll put them here when I find em :) As always, enjoy!
